We currently have a small, dedicated team with a huge ambition and new multi-million-pound IP to match. As our in-house concept artist, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our groundbreaking project. Rapid ideation, fearless iteration, and a flair for cinematic aesthetics are your superpowers. Reports to
The Concept Artist reports to our Art Director and is based in Guildford, UK
What will you do?
- Create high-quality digital concepts that effectively illustrate locations, environments, in-game objects, characters and vehicles, telling a story or conveying a mood through visuals and forms
- You’ll develop this renowned intellectual property, adhering to the established style while infusing the scene with greater scale, dynamism, and impact befitting the game’s ambitions
- Protect the IP lore, whilst exploring new ways to broaden our creative possibilities
- Collaborate with the Art Director, Creative Director and Narrative Expert to shape the game's vision and communicate ideas effectively to both art and non-art disciplines
- Participate in brainstorming sessions, bringing ideas and expertise to the table
- Mentor colleagues by providing guidance and constructive feedback
- Support the Art Team with outsourcing concepts where necessary
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience in concept art within the gaming or related industries
- Strong ability to convey stories and moods through artistic concepts
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, comfortable working with a variety of teams and disciplines
- Experience in mentoring and guiding fellow artists
- A portfolio showcasing a wide range of conceptual artwork
What additional skills will help you stand out?
- 3d skills will be valuable in increasing the speed and accuracy of concepts.
- Advanced understanding of color and lighting theory, psychology of perception
