Job Description

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for spearheading the technical vision and strategy for Skillz's Data organization. You will have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, strong proficiency in SQL and Python, and hands-on experience with data warehouses like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.

Job Description:

As the Senior Data Engineer - you'll report to Guillermo Barrios Zacarias - our Head of Data Engineering and spearhead the technical vision and strategy for the Data organization.

5+ years of Data engineering experience.
Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data (e.g., pandas, dataframes, data manipulation, etc.)
Hands-on production experience with data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery)
Experience building ETL and ELT pipelines using tools such as Debezium, DMS, StreamSets, or DBT
Familiarity with job orchestration tools such as Airflow and Jenkins.
Experience with data stream processing tools such as Kafka, Spark, or Flink.
Availability for off-hours on-call support.
Able to work in-office 5 days a week in Bangalore

Bonus / Extra Credit:

Experience in the Gaming Industry (ideally).

Proficient in Java (Spring Boot or similar framework) or Python (Flask or similar framework) for backend development.

Experience building out segmentation platforms.

Supported Business Intelligence and User Acquisition functions.

Machine Learning (ML) experience.
Experience with recognized industry patterns, methodologies, and techniques.
