NVIDIA seeks a Senior Generalist Software Engineer for its Omniverse project. This role demands expertise in computer graphics, algorithms, data structures, and compute systems. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and optimizing software solutions for compute systems and graphics applications; implementing and maintaining efficient algorithms; collaborating with cross-functional teams; conducting performance analysis and optimization; staying current with advancements in the field; mentoring junior engineers; and participating in code reviews. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of experience, with a strong background in computer graphics, algorithms, and compute systems. Experience with parallel programming, GPU computing (CUDA, OpenCL), and various programming languages (C++, Python, Java) is essential.

Job Details

NVIDIA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Generalist Software Engineer with a strong background in computer graphics, algorithms, data structures, and compute systems. This role involves working on cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of technology and innovation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for solving complex problems and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Design, develop, and optimize software solutions for compute systems and computer graphics applications.

  • Implement and maintain efficient algorithms and data structures to solve complex problems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software components and ensure seamless functionality.

  • Conduct performance analysis and optimization to ensure software meets high-performance standards.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in computer graphics, algorithms, and compute systems, and apply this knowledge to ongoing projects.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring adherence to best practices.

What we need to see:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of work experience.

  • Extensive experience in computer graphics, including knowledge of rendering techniques, shading languages, and graphics APIs (e.g., OpenGL, DirectX, Vulkan).

  • Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures, with the ability to implement and optimize them for various applications.

  • Proven experience in compute systems, including parallel programming, GPU computing (e.g., CUDA, OpenCL), and performance optimization.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, and/or Java.

  • Experience with software development tools and practices, including version control (e.g., Git), continuous integration, and testing frameworks.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and their application in computer graphics and compute systems.

  • Familiarity with real-time rendering engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) and virtual production techniques.

  • Knowledge of distributed computing and cloud-based architectures.

  • Experience in developing software for embedded systems and hardware acceleration.

  • Contributions to open-source projects or published research in relevant fields.
