Job Description

As a Senior Information Management Analyst, you will collaborate with colleagues to ensure they have the necessary information to perform efficiently. This involves analyzing, developing, validating, and publishing information about processes, policies, and systems. The role requires continuous improvement based on feedback. Responsibilities include leading the development of reference information, creating content for the Information Management System (IMS), leading the weekly newsletter publication, and reviewing existing policies. You'll also partner with the Information Management and Learning team to evolve best practices. This role reports to the Underwriting Operations Manager and is based in Bethlehem, PA.
Must have:
  • Experience in Group Underwriting
  • Knowledge of Group insurance products and services
  • Understanding of Underwriting tools, procedures, and systems
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
Good to have:
  • Project management experience
  • Familiarity with process improvement and process design (Lean Six Sigma)
  • Experience executing in a disciplined way and towards deadlines
  • Writing or technical writing experience
  • Experience gathering feedback in a systematic way

As Senior Information Management Analyst in Group Benefits Underwriting, you will collaborate with colleagues in Underwriting, Underwriting Operations, and other functional areas to ensure that our colleagues have all the information needed to perform. This requires being systematic in analyzing, developing, validating, and publishing information about processes, policies, and our systems. This role also requires an ongoing evaluation of the information management and communication approach and continuous improvement of our processes, based on input from our colleagues and industry best practices.  

You are:

A team player and collaborator who can work on multiple priorities at the same time, with a strong interest in organizing and disseminating information in logical ways for the end users in the Group Underwriting organization. You will focus on collaboration with colleagues, subject matter experts, leaders, and other business stakeholders to continuously improve our approach to information management.

You have:

  • Several years of experience in Group Underwriting in a risk underwriting role
  • Knowledge of the Group insurance products and services 
  • Understanding of Group Underwriting tools, procedures, and systems
  • 4-year college degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • Project management experience a plus
  • Familiarity with process improvement and process design (Lean Six Sigma)
  • Experience executing in a disciplined way and towards deadlines
  • Writing or technical writing experience
  • Experience gathering feedback in a systematic way 

You will:

  • Independently lead the development of reference information and communications for complex projects to support the effectiveness and efficiency of our Group Underwriting organization. The reference information is commonly related to new products, policies, systems, tools, and processes.
  • Create Underwriting specific content for the Information Management System (IMS)
  • At times lead the weekly publication of the newsletter for all of Group Underwriting (WUB)
  • Lead the process of reviewing existing Group Underwriting policies with stakeholders
  • Partner with the Information Management and Learning team to:
    • Evolve best practices
    • Coordinate communications
    • Collaborate with many areas including compliance, legal, and IT

Reporting Relationships:


As our Senior Information Management Analyst (CF: Process Improvement Analyst III), you will report to our Underwriting Operations Manager, Information Management and Learning, who reports to our Underwriting Operations Lead.

Location:

  • Preferred location is Guardian’s Office in Bethlehem, PA.

Salary Range:

$67,450.00 - $110,815.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
