Job Description
The Senior Specialist, Purchasing/Procurement will be responsible for daily purchasing activities, including placing and following up on purchase orders and resolving material shortages. They will manage supplier performance to ensure quality, delivery, and cost targets are met. This role involves sourcing projects for new product development, transfer product, localization, and resourcing. The specialist will optimize the supply base, understand business requirements related to quality, cost, delivery, and technology, and develop supplier selection/development criteria. They will review engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and market trends to create cost breakdown templates. The role requires identifying suitable suppliers, developing long and short lists of potential vendors, and leading the supplier selection process through pre-visits, price benchmarking, and audits. They will also develop, maintain, and monitor commodity strategies and manage the negotiation process to deliver the total cost of ownership.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily purchasing activities, place purchase order, follow up purchase order, solve shortage material in short term and long term.
- Manage supplier performance to ensure the quality, delivery and cost are met.
- Achieve sourcing project for new product development, transfer product, localization, resourcing etc.
- Optimize supply base for business requirement.
- Understand the business requirement in term of quality, cost, delivery and technology and develop supplier selection / development criteria.
- Review engineering drawing, specification, BOM, raw material market trend, manufacture process to generate and develop cost breakdown templates to reflect cost driven.
- Identify the suitable supplier for certain projects based on business requirement and mass production performance within current supplier base or any other potential supplier if current suppliers can't fulfill the requirement.
- Be able to develop the long list of potential suppliers and narrow down to the short list according to the criteria.
- Lead supplier selection process through pre-visit, price benchmarking, supplier audit to ensure selected vendor meets business requirement.
- Develop, maintain and monitor assigned commodity strategies.
- Responsible in managing the negotiation process for the assigned commodities and deliver the total cost of ownership.
- Participate and take on additional assignments and projects as required.
