Job Description

Barracuda Networks seeks a passionate Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to contribute to their next-generation email security products. This role involves designing, developing, and executing automated test suites using Python/Perl, SQL, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions). The SDET will collaborate with engineers and product owners, ensuring high-quality software releases in a continuous delivery model. Responsibilities include building test plans, identifying defects, and working closely with developers for timely issue resolution. Experience with manual and performance testing, analyzing test logs, and creating reports is essential.

Must have:

3+ years SDET experience
Automation testing (Python/Perl)
SQL RDBMS experience
CI/CD pipeline knowledge
Manual testing & reporting
Agile environment experience

Good to have:

Email security knowledge
SMTP, POP, IMAP, LDAP experience
Selenium, mabl, Playwright, Cypress
Bash scripting
AWS cloud experience
Front-end technologies (JavaScript, CSS, HTML)

We are looking for a highly skilled and passionate Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our cross functional Agile team.

As a SDET you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge on-premises appliance based and cloud-based email security products. You will be working closely with product managers, customers, and developers to design, develop, test, and deliver new and innovative features in a continuous delivery model. Tech Stack

Python/ Perl
Good Experience with both Manual and automation testing
Good Experience with SQL based RDBMS (MySQL)
CI/CD Pipeline: Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub Actions
Basic Networking knowledge SMTP, DNS, and networking protocols.

Nice to have

Familiarity with email and Authentication technologies like SMTP, POP, IMAP, LDAP, Microsoft 365)
Selenium WebDriver / mabl / Playwright / Cypress
Security Domain Knowledge/Experience preferably email security
Strong practical Linux usage and bash scripting skills
Familiarity with bug tracking systems like JIRA for defect logging and tracking.
Familiarity with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, CSS, HTML is a plus.

What you will be working on

Able to build manual and automated test plans from business requirements
Develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites using industry-standard tools and frameworks to capture Functional and Non-Functional use cases.
Collaborate with software engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality software releases
Identify, document defects and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
Able to write code and modify existing automation framework.
Assist junior team members
Lead troubleshooting of issues in QA environment

What you bring to the role

3+ years of experience in software development, testing, and automation
Requires coding, and analytical skills
Experience in a full project testing life cycle including test case creation, script development, manual and automated testing
Experience in Relational Databases (SQL)
Common testing practices in a highly agile project environment
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Experience in manual testing & performance testing, analyzing test logs, creating test reports and keeping the manager updated on the progress on a regular basis.
Experience with AWS including knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services is a plus
