Job Summary:
Product Engineering is a unified team responsible for the engineering of Disney Entertainment & ESPN digital and streaming products and platforms. This includes product engineering, media engineering, quality assurance, engineering behind personalization, commerce, lifecycle, and identity.
This is a distributed devops team focused on synthesizing complex cloud-first tooling into a friendly developer experience. We own tools used to build, test, deploy, and monitor Disney Streaming’s web-based products including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. As part of this team, you will be responsible for delivering what aims to be the largest media streaming platform in the world. We work on Macbooks and rely heavily on containerization and cloud services.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
The web infrastructure engineer works with a diverse set of technologies to facilitate the release of web applications into production. In this role you will,
Collaborate with application developers, project managers, test engineers, sysadmins, AWS support engineers, and software vendors.
Stitch together internal tools into a cohesive, easily understandable CI/CD system.
Own automation that builds and runs code from multiple locations to create artifacts that are analyzed, tested, published, deployed continuously, and consumed by millions of users around the world.
Monitor production infrastructure and perform root cause error analysis
Implement integrations with enterprise apps like Artifactory, Datadog, New Relic, Spinnaker
Support application developers and evangelize cloud-first best practices
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
Basic Qualification:
Minimum of 3 years of related technical experience
Familiarity with devops concepts like performance monitoring, autoscaling, failover, redundancy, traffic analysis, etc
Knowledge/experience with AWS products and services.
Knowledge/experience with CI systems such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
Expertise in the following: Docker, NodeJS, Typescript, Bash, Groovy
Deep interest in applying technology to complex, distributed systems.
Ability to write documentation and communicate technical topics with clarity
Preferred qualification:
Proficiency in developing Jenkins shared libraries
Experience developing GitHub automations
Track record of deploying and operating geographically distributed, highly available services
Experience with artifact repositories (e.g. Artifactory, ECR)
Experience with code scanning systems (e.g. SonarQube, Checkmarx, Snyk)
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
