Job Description

Google Photos seeks Software Engineers III to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions and features. Responsibilities include adhering to software development best practices, driving technical discussions, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams across time zones, and driving decisions related to project scoping and milestones. The role involves working on client-side (web and mobile), server-side (search, storage, serving), and machine intelligence (learning, computer vision) aspects of the Google Photos platform. The ideal candidate will be versatile, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic about tackling full-stack challenges.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
3+ years software development experience
2+ years experience with data structures/algorithms
Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain software

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in Computer Science
Experience with tools/infrastructure development
Experience developing accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
Experience with tools and infrastructure development to improve software engineering process.
Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions and features.
Ensure software development practices are being adhered to in work.
Drive technical discussions with peers and stakeholders.
Triage technical issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and conducting investigation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across timezones to deliver new features and products. Drive decisions related to scoping and milestones.
