About the Role & Team

Walt Disney Imagineering is the master planning, creative development, design, engineering, production, project management, and research arm of The Walt Disney Company’s Parks and Resorts business segment. Representing more than 130 subject areas, the talented Imagineers are responsible for the creation of Disney resorts, theme parks and attractions, hotels, water parks, real estate developments, regional entertainment venues, cruise ships and new media technology projects.

The Walt Disney Imagineering Technology Studio is a product and technology team, looking for a Product Manager Senior to drive “Core Experience” functions and workflows for our internally used Imagineering product portfolio. This individual will be responsible for bringing various software technologies (both buy and build) into a comprehensive UX tailored to the personalized workflow for every Imagineer. This role works with other Product Managers within the team to identify workflows, user patterns, and feature sets to bring into the “Core Experience.” Collectively, these tools and apps power how Imagineering crafts, designs and delivers attractions and experiences around the world.

This role reports to the Project Executive.

What You Will Do

  • Drive product direction and implementation for aspects of the Imagineering “Core Experience” platform.

  • Advocate as the voice of the Imagineer, empathizing as a user-first Imagineer placing problem-solving before technology.

  • Draft product requirements, user research, user stories, mockups, visualizations, product memos, presentations, roadmaps, and other pertinent strategy materials.

  • Liaise with other product managers across the Walt Disney Company to find opportunities for integration, lessons learned, and shared engagements.

  • Collaborate with peer leaders across software engineering, product design, project management, project technology integration, finance and legal.

  • Drive the annual investment and funding strategy for product functions and features within “Core Experience.”

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong software product management acumen and leadership experience (+5-10 yrs).

  • Expertise with 0-1 software development.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills - written, verbal, and presentational.

  • Passion for solving problems within creative/entertainment cultures.

  • Desire to work on internal technologies used by Imagineers (not consumer-facing).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background within BIM, content, media operations, gaming, VFX, or animation companies.

  • Experience with microservice ecosystems and component-based web apps.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, media management or equivalent experience. Advanced degrees preferred.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $201,900 to $270,700 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
