Job Description

Enphase Energy is seeking a Sr. Electrical Lab Technician to manage and maintain systems labs used for developing and testing energy solutions. The role involves assisting the systems engineering team in defining and testing system behavior. Key responsibilities include day-to-day lab management, prioritizing tasks, maintaining inventory of tools and equipment, managing assets, purchase orders, and invoice payments. The technician will also handle equipment installation, calibration, software licensing, and renewal management, ensuring lab safety, regulatory compliance, and security processes are met. Additionally, the role requires designing and assembling test fixtures and wire harnesses, including PCBA design and assembly. The position is open to working both day and night shifts.
Must have:
  • Diploma in electrical/electronics engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in a related field
  • 5+ years in lab management
  • Experience with lab PO process
  • Knowledge in electro-mechanical systems assembly
  • Experience reading electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with shop/lab tools
  • Hands-on experience with electrical hardware teardown, solder, and rework
  • Familiarity with 120V/240V AC systems
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Computer literacy (MS tools)
  • Experience with Python or similar languages
  • Understanding of energy storage, microgrid, and renewable energy systems
  • Experience with wired and wireless communication protocols
  • Willingness to work day and night shifts

To assist with managing some of the systems labs used to develop and test such solutions, we are seeking a Sr Electrical Lab Technician. The successful candidate will be part of the systems engineering team that is responsible for defining and testing the systems behaviour for Enphase’s energy solutions. This position reports into the director of systems engineering

 

What you will be doing:

 

  • Perform Day-to-day managing, prioritizing, and maintaining of the systems engineering labs 
  • Perform lab tools and equipment inventory control, asset management, PO management, invoice payment and delivery management 
  • Perform equipment hardware installation and calibration, software licensing and renewal management (examples of equipment include power analyzers, scopes, AC and DC power sources, AC and DC electronic loads, serial communication devices, electric panels, breakers, relays… etc) 
  • Drive lab space safety, regulatory and security processes compliance 
  • Design and assemble any needed test fixtures, wire harnesses, including but not limited to simple PCBA design and assembly 
  • Ready work both in night shift and day shift

 

 

 

Who you are and what you bring:

 

 

  • Diploma in electrical/electronics engineering or a similar field, with 10+ years of experience in a related field, 
  • This includes 5+ years of experience in a lab management role. 
  • Experience prioritizing and accommodating lab/equipment needs from various engineering teams 
  • Experience with lab PO process: from quotation, purchase, payment to delivery 
  • Knowledge in the assembly of electro-mechanical systems 
  • Experience understanding electrical and mechanical drawings 
  • Creative problem solving, experience figuring out ways to get things done quickly, efficiently, and professionally 
  • Familiarity with typical shop/lab tools, and the skill to build things using such tools 
  • Hands-on experience with electrical hardware teardown, solder and rework 
  • Familiarity with 120V/240V AC systems 
  • Good oral and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work autonomously, with little direction 
  • Computer literacy, including MS tools 
  • Experience with Python or similar programming languages 
  • Understanding of energy storage, microgrid and renewable energy systems 
  • Hands on experience with wired and wireless communication protocols
  • Work Shifts- Both Night shift and Day shift on rotation basics.
