Define and develop power IC products with innovative and competent features;
Participate actively in design verification testing and characterization of first sample ICs in the lab, such as high voltage GaN based IC;
Implement the simulation/emulations for new product definitions;
Cooperate with and provide support to the IC design team to ensure the IC implementation meets system requirements;
Provide the detail internal and external technical documentation on the product definition and specification;
Support the applications team to facilitate acceptance and design-in of Power Integrations IC products.
Requirements:
Electrical Engineering Education background in University;
Practical bench skills and confident user of lab equipment Appreciation of cost/performance trade-offs in SMPS design for cost-sensitive, high volume applications;
Understanding fundamental power conversion topologies including PFC, Flyback and LLC topologies;
Understanding wide bandgap devices (SiC or GaN) characterization and performance comparison;
Proficient understanding on software and tools such as PCB layout, Mathcad, Simplis/Simetrix, PLECs;
Hands-on experience on control loop in digital systems is value added;
Demonstrated ability to write accurate and concise technical documentation including bench evaluations and simulation results.
