Job Description

The Technical Artist will work on tools for procedural content generation in Houdini, Unreal Engine, or proprietary engines. Responsibilities include creating procedural content, optimizing existing content, and writing documentation for complex systems. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in game development or CG, with at least 2 years as a Technical Artist. Proficiency in Unreal Engine and procedural content generation tools (Houdini, Substance Designer, etc.) is crucial. A strong understanding of performance optimization and excellent communication skills are essential. The role requires problem-solving, an analytical mindset, and adaptability to changing project requirements.
Must have:

Job Details

Responsibilities

- Working on tools for procedural content generation in Houdini, Unreal Engine, or clients` proprietary engines.

- Creating the procedural content or procedurally optimize the existing content.

- Writing documentation for complex procedural systems and tools.

Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in game development or other CG industry.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Technical Artist.

- Procedural Content Generation Experience with using and developing tools and plugins in industry-standard software, such as Houdini, Substance Designer, World Machine or Blender.

- Proficient in using Unreal Engine 4 or 5 or any other industry - leading game engines with a deep understanding of its art and rendering pipelines.

- Solid understanding of performance optimization techniques and best practices in game development.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with artists, designers, and programmers. 

- Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and address issues in procedural content generation processes. 

- Analytical mindset to optimize and fine-tune procedural algorithms for performance and visual quality. 

- Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and able to iterate and improve procedural systems based on feedback.

Will Be a Plus:

- Expertise in developing custom tools and scripts to enhance and streamline art workflows. 

- Expertise in creating and optimizing shaders, materials, and visual effects for game environments. 

- Knowledge of at least one 3D modeling, texturing, and animation software, such as Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Bllender and Substance Package. 

- Scripting languages as Pyton, Vex, MEL and Maxscript.

- Experience with VFX software like Embergen or Niagara plugin in UE is a plus.
