Job Description

The Technical Lead, Data Engineering Solutions at Google's Connected Data and Analytics (CDNA) team will deliver data, reporting, and analytics solutions for Googlers. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining databases, ensuring data integrity and security, partnering with internal teams to improve processes, integrating third-party products, and maintaining development practices (design, development, testing, issue resolution, coding). The role requires 5+ years of experience in data management as a lead, proficiency with data management tools and technologies (data pipelines, databases, file/object stores), and SQL. Experience with advanced analytics, Kafka/BQ Spanner, Java/Python, and knowledge of domains like Finance, Supply Chain, or HR are preferred.

Must have:

5+ years data engineering lead experience
Data management tools & technologies expertise
SQL pipelines and database design skills
Data integrity and security implementation
Partnering with internal teams for solutions

Good to have:

Advanced analytics (ML/statistical)
Kafka or BQ Spanner experience
Java or Python programming skills
Finance, Supply Chain, or HR domain knowledge

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience in data management as a data engineering lead.
5 years of experience with data management tools and technologies including data pipelines frameworks, database engines, and file and object stores.
Experience with data management, data integration, data domain, system integration, distributed databases, SQL pipelines, SQL.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience working with advanced analytics solutions involving machine learning and statistical analytics.
Experience with Kafka or BQ Spanner.
Experience in Java or Python programming.
Knowledge in one or more domains across Finance, Supply Chain, HR etc.

Responsibilities

Deliver solutions to meet the data, reporting, and analytics needs of Googlers. Drive impact projects to deliver data management and analytical solutions for our partners across Google.
Create and maintain logical and physical database designs.
Ensure the integrity of data under the purview of the projects, including establishing security procedures to protect and maintain the level of confidentiality and data security.
Partner with internal teams to define and implement solutions that improve internal business processes.
Integrate third-party products with internal systems.
Maintain levels of development practices including: technical design, solution development, systems configuration, test documentation/execution, issue identification and resolution, writing clean, modular and self-sustaining code.
