En tant qu'artiste en lighting, vous jouerez un rôle essentiel pour donner vie à nos mondes animés. Vous serez responsable du lighting et l’ombrages des scènes, des personnages et des environnements afin d'obtenir l'esthétique visuelle, l'ambiance et l'impact narratif souhaités pour notre projet d'animation. Vous collaborerez avec les équipes créatives et techniques afin de garantir que nos projets répondent aux normes de qualité les plus strictes. 

 

Ce que vous ferez : 

  • Utilisez votre expertise pour concevoir, développer et exécuter des configurations de lighting complexes et des matériaux pour les personnages, les accessoires et les environnements, en veillant à ce qu'ils répondent à la vision créative du projet.  
  • Collaborer avec d'autres services pour optimiser les scènes en vue du rendu, en veillant à l'efficacité tout en maintenant la qualité visuelle.  
  • Travailler en collaboration avec le superviseur/artiste principal de lighting et les autres départements pour maintenir la continuité de lighting et de l'ombrage sur l'ensemble du projet, notamment en résolvant les problèmes créatifs et techniques.   
  • Identifier et résoudre les problèmes techniques liés au lighting et au rendu et mettre en œuvre des solutions créatives pour les surmonter.  
  • Contribuer au développement et à l'amélioration du pipeline lighting, des outils et des flux de travail afin d'accroître l'efficacité et la qualité.  
  • Gérer les tâches de rendu, y compris la mise en place de passes de rendu, la gestion des ressources de la ferme de rendu et la garantie de temps de rendu efficaces.   
  • Effectuer des contrôles de qualité rigoureux pour s'assurer que les prises de vue finales respectent les normes visuelles et techniques du projet. 

 

Ce que vous apporterez :  

  • Au moins 5 ans d'expérience ou plus en tant que artiste lighting dans l'industrie de l'animation ou des effets visuels.   
  • Maîtrise des logiciels 3D standard de l'industrie (p. ex., Maya, Houdini).  
  • Maîtrise de Katana, y compris le travail avec des modèles dans un pipeline.  
  • Solide compréhension de la théorie des couleurs, de la composition et des principes cinématographiques.  
  • Solide connaissance des langages d'ombrage (par exemple, RenderMan, Arnold).  
  • Familiarité avec les logiciels de composition (par exemple, Nuke).  
  • Solides compétences en matière de résolution de problèmes et capacité à travailler efficacement dans des délais serrés.  
  • Excellentes aptitudes à la communication et au travail d'équipe.  
  • Une passion pour la narration et un sens artistique développé.  
  • Fournir des conseils et un soutien aux artistes lighting débutants et aux autres membres de l'équipe, en favorisant un environnement d'apprentissage collaboratif. 

Emplacement: Quebec, Canada 

Fourchette salariale: $1,400 - 1,700 CAD par semaine

As a Lighting Artist, you will play a crucial role in bringing our animated worlds to life. You will be responsible for lighting and shading scenes, characters, and environments to achieve the desired visual aesthetic, mood, and storytelling impact of our animated project. You will collaborate closely with our creative and technical teams to ensure that our projects meet the highest quality standards. 

 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Use your expertise to design, develop, and execute complex lighting setups, and materials for characters, props, and environments, ensuring they meet the creative vision of the project. 
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize scenes for rendering, ensuring efficiency while maintaining visual quality. 
  • Work closely with the Lighting Supervisor/Lead, and other departments to maintain continuity of lighting and shading across the project, including solving creative and technical challenges. 
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues related to lighting and rendering and implement creative solutions to overcome them. 
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the lighting pipeline, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency and quality. 
  • Manage rendering tasks, including setting up render passes, managing render farm resources, and ensuring efficient render times. 
  • Conduct rigorous quality control checks to ensure that final shots meet the project's visual and technical standards. 

 

What you’ll bring: 

  • 5+ years experience as a Lighting Artist in the animation or visual effects industry. 
  • Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software (e.g., Maya, Houdini). 
  • Proficiency using Katana including working with templates in a pipeline. 
  • Strong understanding of colour theory, composition, and cinematography principles. 
  • Strong knowledge of shading languages (e.g., RenderMan, Arnold). 
  • Familiarity with compositing software (e.g., Nuke). 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. 
  • A passion for storytelling and a strong artistic eye. 
  • Provide guidance and support to junior lighting artists and other team members, fostering a collaborative learning environment. 

     

 

Location: Quebec, Canada 

Salary Range: CAD $1,400 - $1,700 / week.   

The Salary Range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for a position. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range for a job
