Passion Gaming Private Limited is seeking an experienced Back End Engineer with 3+ years of experience in PHP to join their team. Responsibilities include designing and developing large-scale distributed services, implementing new user-facing features, improving system efficiency and scalability, and collaborating with product and design teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in computer science, expertise in PHP, experience with Socket.io, Redis, RPC, RDBMS and NoSQL databases, and a deep understanding of distributed systems. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and other programming languages is a plus. The team is responsible for building and managing large distributed components that run the game, handling everything related to the core game logic.
Must have:
- 3+ years PHP experience
- Solid understanding of data structures & algorithms
- Socket.io, Redis & RPC expertise
- RDBMS & NoSQL database knowledge
- Distributed systems understanding
- Design & develop large-scale services
- Implement new user-facing features
Good to have:
- AWS, GCP, Azure experience
- Other programming language experience
- Startup environment experience

Job Details
We are looking for an experienced software engineer to join the BackEnd team. The BackEnd team is responsible for building and managing large distributed components that run the game. This team handles everything that is related to the core of game logic. We are looking for engineers who are passionate about solving complex problems and building game platforms, keeping in mind scalability, efficiency, and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop large scale distributed services
- Design and implement new user-facing features
- Take ownership of one or more components of the platform and drive innovation
- Improve the efficiency, scalability, stability, and security of the system
- Work closely with product management and design teams to define and refine feature specifications
- Manage individual projects’ priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Participate actively in the recruitment and nurturing of other engineers as awesome as you
Requirements
Education and Experience Required
- 3+ years of experience with a solid foundation in computer science and strong competency in data structures, algorithms, and software design
- PHP expert
- Solid understanding of Socket.io, Redis & RPC
- Good knowledge of one or more RDBMS and NoSQL databases
- Good understanding of nuances of distributed systems, scalability, and availability
- In-depth understanding of concurrency, synchronization, & memory usage
- Experience with IaaS clouds like AWS, GCP, Azure, etc is a plus
- Experience with other programming languages is a plus
- Experience in a startup environment is a plus
- Excellent communication skills. Putting your thoughts through to other stakeholders in a cohesive manner should not be a problem for you.
