Advanced Systems Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Camera Shader for their high-performing team. The role involves hands-on expertise with Sony FX6 cameras, live studio shading workflows, and camera matching techniques to establish consistent, calibrated base looks across multiple cameras before applying final LUTs. This is a project-based Flex Workforce role, offering flexibility and exposure to leading media and technology clients. The position is estimated for 2 days/week from late July to early August, with potential for extension, supporting various client engagements.
Must have:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Camera Shader
  • Expertise with Sony FX6 cameras
  • Experience in live studio or broadcast production
  • Knowledge of CCUs and shading consoles
  • Familiarity with Telestream Prism or similar scopes
  • Ability to work under pressure
Good to have:
  • Multicam workflows for live broadcast
  • Familiarity with LUT workflows
  • Knowledge of other Sony or cinema-grade cameras

We are looking for:  

Advanced Systems Group LLC. is seeking an experienced Camera Shader to join our high-performing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience with hands-on expertise with Sony FX6 cameras, live studio shading workflows, and a deep understanding of camera matching techniques. This role is essential for establishing consistent, calibrated base looks across multiple cameras before applying final LUTs. 
 
This position is part of our Flex Workforce. As a Flex team member, you’ll work on a project-to-project basis, supporting a variety of leading media and technology clients. Flex roles are ongoing and dynamic—work may vary in cadence, length, and scope depending on client needs. This setup offers flexibility, exposure to top-tier companies, and the chance to grow your skills across multiple exciting assignments.
 
Estimated schedule: 2 days/week Late July-Early August with possibility to extend
(Specific schedules will vary by project and client engagement.)
Responsibilities: 
    • Balance, match, and shade multiple Sony FX6 cameras in a live studio or broadcast environment.
    • Set all cameras to a unified base setting to ensure visual consistency across the production process. 
    • Strong strategic planning to establish an ongoing workflow for a production environment to maintain. 
    • Operate and fine-tune camera settings using Camera Control Units (CCUs). 
    • Utilize Telestream Prism for precise waveform and vector scope monitoring. 
    • Collaborate with the technical director, lighting team, and video engineering to achieve desired looks. 
    • Adjust iris, white balance, gamma, and color levels in real time during live shows.
    • Maintain and document camera setups and settings for consistency across shoots. 
    • Troubleshoot and resolve any camera or shading-related issues under live conditions. 
  Required Qualifications & Experience: 
    • Bachelor's Degree in Film/TV Production, AV Tech or similar experience.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Camera Shader in live studio or broadcast production. 
    • Strong working knowledge of Sony FX6 cameras and their imaging pipelines. 
    • Expertise in using CCUs and shading consoles for live color correction. 
    • Familiarity with Telestream Prism or similar high-end scopes for image analysis. 
    • Experience with building and managing base camera looks prior to LUT application. 
    • Excellent understanding of exposure, color science, and real-time correction. 
    • Ability to work in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments with multiple camera feeds.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience: 

    • Experience with multicam workflows for live broadcast, concerts, or studio shows.
    • Familiarity with different LUT workflows and how they impact image pipelines. 
    • Knowledge of other Sony or cinema-grade camera systems a plus.
 
Compensation: 
This project-based role offers an hourly pay rate of $50-75/hour depending on experience.
