Job Summary:

The OTV Content Group supports our eight stations across the U.S. with digital coverage for high-impact events, including corporate synergy and major tentpole events, such as elections and the Oscars.

The ABC Owned Television Station group is looking for a dynamic, motivated Content Editor/Producer to work with our team on premium content initiatives. The Content Editor/Producer/Cinematographer reports to the Executive Producer, Content Development, and works with teams across all stations as a member of the OTV Content Group.

This unique position calls for an experienced video editor-producer-shooter who aspires to find the best stories and relishes the opportunity to work with major brands across the ABC Owned Stations. The ideal candidate loves visual storytelling, thinks outside the box, and embodies creativity. They should also have a deep understanding of the evolving digital, streaming, and broadcast landscape.

We are not just looking for a “videographer” or “shooter,” but a cinematographer who knows how to shoot cinematic-style interviews, understands what makes shots stand out, can light, direct, and work well under pressure. We are also looking for someone who knows how to edit using Adobe Premiere, can mix audio, and produce elements from the script to the final edit.

Responsibilities:

  • This person will be responsible for shooting, editing, recording, quality control, and archiving material for a diverse portfolio of branded and editorial video content across OTV and TWDC Long-form, episodic production

  • Support the needs of division leaders in planning and executing linear and digital content opportunities throughout the year

  • Generate exciting and enlightening concepts with the production team

  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously from concept through execution

  • Collaborate with and support supervising producers throughout all projects and processes

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience creating digital video content in a collaborative environment for a platform, agency, network, or brand.

  • High level of editing expertise in Adobe Suite, with an emphasis on Premiere Pro.

  • High level of videography skills, shooting in studio and on location. Experienced in using Sony, Canon, or Blackmagic cameras.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and time management skills.

  • Experience creating linear and digital video content in a collaborative environment for a platform, agency, network, or brand.

  • A positive and optimistic outlook that matches the brand’s mission.

  • Familiarity with local news

  • Hours will vary depending on the needs of the department - flexibility to work a varied schedule is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to color grade using DaVinci Resolve

  • Proficiency in Adobe After Effects

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Glendale is $78,228 to $124,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
