Position Summary

Job Description

Data Center Operations Technician: Supports hardware and software installation, configuration, operation and ongoing maintenance of the computer/data center. Operates, monitors and performs basic troubleshooting of equipment, networks, and data processing/batching; assists with logging and documentation of equipment and processes. Responsibilities may also include cabling, racking and server installations.

Job Functions:

  • Ability to work a non-standard shift and fill in for shifts, as needed

  • Operate all computer systems in accordance with established schedules and quality guidelines

  • Strong attention to detail is required to ensure all aspects of the operational environment are maintained

  • Prioritize nightly processes to ensure the performance of time-critical schedule

  • Run all programs for production systems

  • Provide batch processing and tape backups

  • Ability to problem solve and gather data to troubleshoot and resolve critical system issues

  • Maintain accounting controls for tapes produced

  • Must be able to run web-based vendor systems for E-Commerce products

  • Log and report problems to management

  • Must be able to prioritize tasks as assigned

  • Ability to work with field staff, Retailer-base, and Lottery to troubleshoot and resolve different situations

  • Ability to maintain an aggressive call volume

  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED

  • Experience in LINUX, Microsoft products, and Windows-based systems preferred.

  • Ability to quickly learn and understand new technologies

  • Strong time management skills

  • Must be ok to work days or evenings

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management

  • Must have solid organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs

  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and stretch at a minimum of 50% of the time for any or all of the movements described.


Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
