Job Description

Rockstar Games seeks a highly organized and enthusiastic Development Support team member to collaborate with internal design teams. Responsibilities include defining, documenting, and implementing feature and mission designs; ensuring core design requirements are understood across departments; building collaborative processes; organizing, maintaining, and analyzing bug and task databases; assisting with the daily management of bug and task pipelines; developing and maintaining dashboards and reports; maintaining shared design documentation; managing communications channels; shadowing senior team members; assisting with review videos and play sessions; and liaising with QA teams. The role involves supporting game development teams in creating world-class entertainment experiences.
Must have:
  • 1+ year game industry experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • JIRA experience
  • MS Office 365 (Excel)
  • Confluence/Monday.com experience
  • Interest in analytics
Good to have:
  • Advanced Excel (Macros, SQL, VBA)
  • AAA development experience
  • Game Production/Design/Data Science degree
  • Passion for video games

Rockstar is on the lookout for a talented Development Support team member who is highly organised and enthusiastic about supporting game development teams.

This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar’s unique game development studio in the heart of Dundee, Scotland. 

WHAT WE DO

  • Collaborate with internal design teams to define, document, and implement feature and mission designs.
  • Ensure core design requirements are understood across stakeholder departments, that feasibility is established, and alignment maintained through delivery.
  • Build collaborative processes with development teams that promote honest, transparent, and frequent communication.
  • Organise, maintain, and analyse vast bug and task databases to drive forward development. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the day-to-day management of bug and task pipelines, ensuring issues reach developers in a timely manner with all relevant details included.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, burndowns, and reports which distill into a consumable, user-friendly format, key information about the bug database.
  • Maintain shared design documentation and production resources across a variety of software packages.
  • Manage communications channels, keeping Design teams connected to other teams, departments, and disciplines.
  • Shadow more senior production team members in meetings; taking notes, summarising next steps, and communicating them to attendees as follow up.
  • Assist with the capture of review videos and the running of review play sessions. Liaise with QA teams to facilitate timely and thorough testing of features and content. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of one year experience working in the game industry or related field such as software development. 

SKILLS

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with task and bug tracking software such as JIRA.
  • Experience with MS Office 365, particularly Excel.
  • Experience managing shared team resources on web services such as Confluence and Monday.
  • Keen interest in analytics and their application to game production.
  • An eagerness to learn new workflows and software tools. 

PLUSES

Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.

  • Advanced understanding of Excel including Macros, SQL, and VBA.
  • Experience working within a large-scale AAA development team.
  • A university degree in Game Production, Design, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Passion for video games.
