Job Description

As a Forecast Operations Manager at Google Cloud, you'll manage forecasting operations informing critical business decisions and ensuring alignment across stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, and Executive leadership). Responsibilities include building and maintaining stakeholder relationships, analyzing large datasets to identify trends and anomalies, creating actionable recommendations, tracking forecast accuracy, streamlining processes, and developing forecasting models. You will communicate forecast updates, gather feedback, and implement corrective actions based on data-driven insights. The role requires strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 8 years of experience in relevant fields (or 6 with advanced degree)
  • SQL, dashboard building, data analysis skills
  • Stakeholder relationship management
  • Forecast model development and maintenance
Good to have:
  • Master's degree (MBA)
  • Cloud computing experience
  • Machine learning & advanced forecasting techniques
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or corporate advisory, or 6 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization/dashboards, or in a scripting/programming language (e.g., Python).
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including executive leadership.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with cloud computing technologies.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and other advanced forecasting techniques.
  • Ability to influence decision-making through data-driven insights and effective communication.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with demonstrated attention to detail.

  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, and Executive leadership. Communicate forecast updates, gather feedback, and ensure alignment on assumptions and methodologies.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies impacting forecasting accuracy. Distill these insights into clear, actionable recommendations that resonate with different stakeholders.
  • Track forecast accuracy against actual results, identify root causes of variances, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline forecasting processes, leverage automation, and improve efficiency, while considering stakeholder feedback and ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Design, develop, and maintain forecasting models that accurately predict Google Cloud's business performance, incorporating feedback and input from diverse stakeholders.
