Freelance Social Media Manager (League of Legends) (M/W/D)

As the Social Media Manager (Freelance), you'll be at the forefront of our digital strategy, shaping Team Liquid's presence and forging lasting relationships with our audience.

Contract Term: October to December

What You’ll Be Doing: 

• Social Media Coverage:
  • Manage the preparation, scheduling, posting, and performance assessment for Team Liquid's social media accounts, primarily focused on the North American audience. Ensure all content is in English and be available to coordinate and post during PST time-zone hours.
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term content strategies aligned with team events, player activities, and marketing promotions.
  • Assess performance metrics to refine content strategies and drive engagement.
  • Participate in creative ideation sessions to generate impactful ideas for both the brand and partners.
  • Film and edit social media content, including short-form videos, graphics, memes, and photos.
  • Attend tournaments and events to ensure timely content coverage.
  • Attend shoots or provide detailed lists of required deliverables during the creative approval process for filmmakers.
  • Work closely with internal teams to provide necessary coverage and assistance as needed.
• Engagement and Community Building:
  • Implement strategies to engage with fans and foster strong relationships
  • Propose deliverables for different platforms based on production scope
  • Attend local tournaments and events for timely content coverage
  • Work with filmmakers for shoot requirements and propose in-market optimizations
• Narrative and Campaign Building:
  • Contribute to the development of narrative-focused content related to player signings, terminations, and game-related events
  • Assist in the development of promotional and content marketing strategies
  • Ensure comprehensive alignment in all posts to effectively shape the team's story

What You’ll Need:

• 4+ years of experience in social media and community management
• Strong grasp of digital and social media platform trends, including, but not limited to X (Twitter), Youtube, TikTok, Instagram, Discord, and Facebook.
• Genuine interest in gaining deeper insights into the gaming or esports industry, particularly League of Legends
• Ability to drive group projects
• Fluent in English (B2 level or above)
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to travel domestically for local events coverage
• Proficiency in TikTok content creation, including staying up to date on current trends, shooting, and editing skills

You’ll Earn Bonus Points If You Have:

• Proficiency in Discord and Reddit
• Expertise in videography and proficient video editing skills (camera or cell phone)
• Strong background in video editing; experience preferred

Additional Requirements:

• Flexibility and Schedule Management: While you will manage your own schedule independently, the nature of our projects may occasionally require flexibility. The successful candidate should be prepared to be available outside typical hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed, to meet project demands.
• Freelancer Status: You must be a registered freelancer in Germany with a valid tax ID number and be able to provide proof of your freelance status if requested.
