Job Description

Nine is seeking a Health and Safety Lead to join a supportive and skilled team, providing specialist health, safety, and wellbeing advice. This pivotal role promotes a safe, healthy, and thriving workplace, with no two days being the same. You will collaborate closely with leaders and staff across Nine to manage diverse safety challenges unique to the Media industry, from supporting journalists in daily news reporting to dealing with coverage of emergencies. Key responsibilities include contributing to the Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) strategy, integrating health and safety into daily operations, guiding managers and employees, designing and implementing fit-for-purpose controls, providing advice on HSW matters, enabling proactive risk management, improving the safety management system, and identifying and responding to workplace health and safety risks.
Must have:
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and wellbeing practices in large organizations.
  • Experience delivering results on time and within budget.
  • Confidence advising on complex health and safety matters.
  • Experience creating and running training sessions.
  • Passion for helping others and making a positive difference.
Good to have:
  • Cert IV in WHS (Workplace Health and Safety) or higher.

Job Description

As a Health and Safety Lead, you'll join a supportive and skilled team, providing specialist health, safety, and wellbeing advice and playing a pivotal role in promoting a safe, healthy, and thriving workplace!

No two days will be the same as you work closely with leaders and staff across Nine to manage diverse safety challenges unique to the Media industry. From supporting Journalists, in their daily news reporting to dealing with coverage of emergencies such as floods and bushfires.

Day to day, you will:

  • Help deliver on the Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) strategy, including driving and contributing to project and initiative work.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to integrate health and safety into daily operations.
  • Guide and support managers and employees through end-to-end health and safety management within their site and business unit/s.
  • Design and implement fit-for-purpose controls for unique safety challenges.
  • Provide advice and support to leaders on HSW matters.
  • Enable teams to manage risks and prioritize wellbeing proactively.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the safety management system.
  • Identify, assess, and respond to health and safety risks in the workplace.
  • Drive best practices to maintain a safe workplace in line with Nine's objectives.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone passionate about helping others and with strong knowledge of health, safety, and wellbeing practices in large organizations.

What we would like to see:

  • Knowledge and experience in health, safety, and wellbeing, especially in large organizations with complex needs.
  • Experience delivering results on time and within budget.
  • Confidence in advising and guiding others on complex health and safety matters.
  • Experience creating and running training sessions on health, safety, and wellbeing topics.
  • Cert IV in WHS (Workplace Health and Safety) or higher strongly desirable.
