Role: Contract

• Write 4-5 articles daily (around 400-450 words each), including features, listicles, news updates, and exclusive interviews, focusing on High School football and Basketball.
  

• Ensure accuracy and clarity in all content, adhering to Sportskeeda’s guidelines while meticulously checking for spelling, grammar, and contextual accuracy.
  

• Pitch fresh story ideas and support the vertical lead in crafting content plans around significant events and news.
  

• Cover all relevant news within your shift, ensuring timely updates and no backlog for the next shift.
  

• Source stories from leading news outlets, social media sites, and podcasts.
  

• Stay updated with the latest developments in college and high school sports (football and basketball), including player performances, team dynamics, and key events.
  

• Contribute to the growth and enhancement of the High School Sports section at Sportskeeda.
  

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in sports writing. Writing about the Pro Leagues, NCAA, and/or High School Football/Basketball is highly preferred.
  

• Basic understanding of American Football/Basketball and the culture surrounding it. 
  

• Proven skills in content strategy, editing, and topic ideation.
  

• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  

• Up-to-date knowledge of recent developments in NFL/NBA and NCAA—teams, players, and major events is a plus.
  

• Familiarity with local football/basketball communities and their dynamics is a plus.
  

• A network within the high school football/basketball community is advantageous.
