Java Developer

Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We’re looking to hire a Java Developer for a leading IT solutions company. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

You’ll join the IT team to design, develop, test, and deploy critical and complex projects. This is a long-term contract opportunity. The role is located in Princeton, NJ, or New York, NY, and is hybrid (2 days per week on-site).

Java Developer Responsibilities:

• Design and develop complex, distributed systems using Java.
• Implement and maintain microservices-based solutions.
• Work with Java 8+ features, especially Streams API.
• Utilize Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and caching frameworks like Hazelcast.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries with a strong understanding of data models.
• Implement unit and integration tests to ensure robust software quality.
• Deploy applications in AWS (EC2, ECS, Load Balancer, Security Group, Lambda, S3, etc.).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable solutions.

Java Developer Requirements:

• 8+ years of strong Java development experience.
• Deep understanding of Java fundamentals and concurrent programming.
• 5+ years of experience with Spring-based technologies (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, etc.).
• 5+ years of SQL knowledge and experience in writing queries.
• Experience in designing and implementing microservices.
• Exposure to DevOps tools, Docker, and containerized deployments is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

To qualify for our benefits package, you must work over 30 hours per week, and the assignment must be a minimum of 10 weeks.
