UFP Industries is looking for a Skilled Maintenance Technician in Schertz, Texas. This role involves hands-on maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment, machinery, and facility systems. The technician will gain exposure to mechanical and electrical tasks under direct supervision. Key responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, inspecting and repairing industrial machinery, applying OSHA safety standards, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, maintaining work records, and collaborating with other departments. The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED, a minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience with motor controls and electrical components, and experience in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment, reading machine schematics, and strong troubleshooting skills are essential. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must have:

Position Overview:
UFP Industries is seeking a Skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Schertz, TX. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing equipment, machinery, and facility systems. You’ll work under direct supervision while gaining exposure to a wide range of mechanical and electrical tasks. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment, as assigned by the supervisor
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain a variety of industrial machinery using tools and equipment
  • Apply OSHA safety standards to all tasks, including machine operations and lock-out/tag-out procedures
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and provide effective solutions
  • Maintain detailed records of work completed and assist in special projects
  • Work with a variety of hand tools, power tools, and troubleshooting equipment
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure overall success of operations
  • Follow instructions carefully and display a willingness to learn

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance, particularly with motor controls and electrical components
  • Experience in manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Familiarity with using and maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment safely and effectively
  • Ability to read and understand basic machine schematics with minimal guidance
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs, with frequent handling of materials up to 20 lbs
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to use a variety of measuring instruments with precision (calipers, micrometers, etc.)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and manipulate materials up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring mobility, including bending, stooping, and reaching
