Job Description

As a Paralegal at PlayStation, you will be crucial to the Direct-to-Consumer team. Your responsibilities will include managing software licensing agreements, supporting compliance and regulatory matters for e-commerce with a focus on payments, and coordinating deals to enhance the PlayStation e-commerce ecosystem. You will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage a high volume of agreements, and provide guidance while collaborating with legal and business stakeholders. This role involves drafting, reviewing, and managing legal documentation, supporting the PlayStation Direct and PlayStation Store businesses, and collaborating with various teams to provide global solutions. Continuous learning about the video game industry and PlayStation products will be expected.
Must have:
  • 5+ years paralegal or contract management experience

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Role Overview:

Join PlayStation and help shape the future of gaming and entertainment! As a Paralegal, you'll provide critical legal and operational support to PlayStation’s innovative and growing Direct-to-Consumer team. Your work will include managing a diverse portfolio of software licensing agreements for fraud, payments and data vendors, support compliance and regulatory matters for e-commerce, with an emphasis on payments, and coordinating deals that enhance the PlayStation e-commerce ecosystem and drive significant growth. As a key team member, you'll help ensure our commerce strategy brings the PlayStation brand to millions of fans through an impactful commerce journey that allows our users to safely login, play, and transact.

The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, highly organized paralegal with experience in software licensing, e-commerce, consumer protection, and brand compliance. You will collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams within legal and the business to help understand business priorities, realize efficiency and provide meaningful guidance.  You will be expected to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage a high volume of agreements, and provide reliable guidance while collaborating seamlessly with legal and business stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Draft, review, and manage software licensing agreements, amendments, renewals, extensions, NDAs and other legal documentation.
  • Provide ongoing support for the PlayStation Direct and PlayStation Store business.
  • Manage the submission process for due diligence compliance checks for direct and third-party merchandisers.
  • Support legal team members on consumer protection and compliance related matters.
  • Track and assist on regulatory changes related to all aspects of e-commerce.
  • Serve as the lead coordinator for the Direct-to-Consumer team’s work with Legal Operations, ensuring smooth collaboration and efficient processes.
  • Collaborate closely with teams from different regions, cross-functional groups, and legal subject matter experts to address complex legal issues and provide global solutions.
  • Continuously enhance your understanding of the video game industry, PlayStation products and services, and legal developments through hands-on experience, industry events, and professional legal training.

What we’re looking for: 

  • 5+ years (or equivalent) paralegal or contract management experience, particularly working in-house in an entertainment or technology company’s licensing team.
  • Experience managing commercial transactions.
  • Experience in the video game, entertainment, or consumer products industry is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of consumer protection laws and software licensing practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in licensing management, contract management, and sales tools (e.g., Conga, Agiloft, CLM platforms).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with internal and external partners.
