A leading Malaysian bank is developing a Treasury front-end (TFE) platform to integrate its markets application with core banking systems.
The TFE program is building a centralized platform to distribute Treasury products to retail customers. This platform will be accessible via web and mobile applications. The project is planned in three phases. In the first phase, the bank plans to include FX products, with subsequent phases covering other capital markets products.
This is a role within the banking domain so we expect the candidate to be comfortable managing complex multi-year cross-asset projects and Agile methodology. Project Manager will partner with the teams based in onsite/offshore. The ideal candidate will have a mixture of strong project management skills and a working knowledge of the associated technology solutions.
The focus for this role will be to deliver projects leveraging existing and new architecture solutions of the cross-asset space. The expectation is that the Technical Project Manager will be engaged in run-the-bank and change-the-bank projects like enabling and supporting daily banking functions, regulatory commitments with the key focus on defining strategic product solutions across onsite/offshore teams using Agile methodology.
Responsibilities
Act as lead project manager for delivery of key business and regulatory projects under cross-asset technology strategy
Managing the subcomponent projects of new system development initiatives to completion
Managing new cross-asset projects from start to finish
Collaborate with product owners and scrum masters of agile teams to create and maintain detail project plans with high level views on milestones
Coordinate on dependencies and facilitate discussion across asset class technology teams and quant teams to resolve outstanding risk and issues
Conduct regular scheduled/ad-hoc meetings with stakeholder
Producing presentations and reports for senior management and regulators alike on progress on key programs
Creating roadmaps and monitoring product milestone deliverables, completion, and removing impediments and roadblocks;
Moderating technical discussion in close cooperation with product teams
Continuous improvement to achieve greater team efficiency and agile culture;
Skills
Must have
5+ years experiences in a financial services firm in a role of Project Manager, Product Manager, Product Owner
Experience of working under an Agile approach and responsible for setting up Jira
A working knowledge in various technologies (e.g., Python, MongoDB, Java, Restful API, cloud-based services). Hands on experience of working directly with development teams. Aptitude to understand technology system flow architectures and engage IT partners for designing solution on business and regulatory projects
Experience of delivering on projects in geographically diverse teams to effectively progress on cross asset and cross function projects
Understanding of regulations enabling of basic understanding and review of business requirement and functional requirement documents
Identifying key gaps in project plan and dependencies and ability to organize/facilitate conversation leading to an acceptable conclusion
Understanding business impact through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes and industry. Distilling complex information and present in concise terms to enable senior decision making and direction.
Applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Strong written and verbal communication skills, experience coordinating with technology teams
Educational Level: Bachelor's Degree required.
Nice to have
Knowledge in asset class, preferably in FX Cash.
Understanding Front Office data like trade, positions, netting sets, market data and role of quantitive libraries and models on front office risk calculation is preferred.
Ideally have managed complex banking technology projects for a major Investment Bank
Hands on knowledge of Python, MongoDB queries is preferred
