Senior Environment Concept Artist needed for Project Orion, the next Cyberpunk game. Responsibilities include creating high-quality environment concept art, collaborating with directors to establish the game's vision, working within a team, participating in feedback sessions, collaborating with other departments, and meeting deadlines. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of game development experience, a deep understanding of Cyberpunk and RPGs, and exceptional artistic and communication skills. A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in realistic and sci-fi environment concept art is required. The position is located in Boston and offers a hybrid or full-time in-office work mode.

Job Description

We’re currently looking for a Senior Environment Concept Artist to join our new studio in Boston and help us develop Project Orion - the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077 and the next major video game in the Cyberpunk franchise. As a Senior Environment Concept Artist, you’ll be a part of a small team of talented artists, working in close collaboration with Art Directors to establish the vision for the game. If you are an experienced and mature artist with a passion for creating industry-leading RPGs, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Create high quality, creative and original environment concept artworks. 
  • Work closely with directors to establish a clear vision and direction for the game.
  • Cooperate and work as part of a team of artists, sharing information, ideas and knowledge to benefit the project as a whole.
  • Participating in peer group feedback sessions regularly, attending reviews, receiving feedback and making iterations.
  • Collaborating closely with other departments and teams to get the information and support needed to achieve goals and solve problems.
  • Maintaining the production pipeline and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in game development.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Cyberpunk genre and RPGs and a passion for environment design.
  • Excellent visual and verbal communication skills, with the ability to efficiently demonstrate ideas and concepts and convey information clearly to others.
  • Exceptional creative and artistic skills, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in realistic and sci-fi environment concept art, mood paintings, 3D environment designs, blockouts and paintovers, key-frames, and the ability to create fast ideation sketches such as storyboards.
  • A solid background in traditional art such as industrial design, landscape painting or illustration with core foundational skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of both 2d and 3d design software.
  • Readiness to take responsibility for projects.
  • Openness for constant feedback and sharing knowledge with other concept artists.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the willingness to work collaboratively with other teams online in different time zones.

Additional Information

This job requires working in Boston, US.
Working mode: in-office in a hybrid or full-time capacity.
