The Senior Graphic Designer (Project Hire) will develop environmental graphics and dimensional signage, from concept to technical illustrations, working with a project team under the supervision of the Lead Designer. Responsibilities include creating mechanical/technical illustrations, completing contract documents, and collaborating with other disciplines. The role involves problem-solving, implementing project goals, answering questions, and monitoring project performance. The individual will influence the design of complex projects. This is an estimated 30-month Project Hire position without any guarantee of permanent placement.
Must have:
  • 7 years of experience in Environmental Graphic Design
  • Experience with the construction phase and shop drawings
  • Familiarity with BIM standards and wayfinding systems
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite, CADtools, and Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
Good to have:
  • Proficiency with signage code requirements
  • Ability to produce a reliable sign fabrication and installation estimate

You will report to the Mgr-Graphic Design. 

This is an estimated 30-month Project Hire position without any guarantee of permanent placement.

What You Will Do

  • Develop environmental graphics and dimensional signage scope from concept to technical illustrations, including drafting of multiple views, and 3D modeling

  • Work on a project team, under the supervision of the project’s Lead Designer and support adherence to established project strategies, schedules, and budgets

  • Work with a small team of designers in the design of physical environmental graphics and dimensional signage for various projects, through the development of mechanical/technical illustrations, and completion of contract documents for fabrication and/or 3D modeling and production art

  • Support physical dimensional environmental graphics, operational signage and wayfinding designing in collaboration with other disciplines; Creative, Show/Ride, Design & Production, and Operational partners

  • Support implementation of project goals/objectives through problem-solving and development of Graphic design solutions

  • Answer questions during the sign construction bid process and respond to and resolve field issues and questions

  • Monitor performance against the project design schedule, budget, and earned value

  • Coordinate and communicate design issues with project Lead, Principal, or Graphic Design Manager

  • Interact and communicate with the project team as the discipline lead or key department representative

  • Expected to influence the design of fairly complex projects in all project matters

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 7 years in Environmental Graphic Design practice

  • Construction phase experience, including the submittal/shop drawing review process and on-site field inspections

  • Familiarity with BIM standards

  • Proficient in understanding of wayfinding systems

  • Demonstrated ability/experience with programming Graphic Signage for a wide range of facility types

  • Working understanding of Contract processes

  • Working knowledge/experience with planning a Project Life Cycle

  • Tools: proficient in Adobe Suite with a focus on Photoshop and Illustrator, CADtools plug-in for Illustrator, Microsoft Office, Teams, Mac OS software and hardware

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required

  • A valid U.S. passport is mandatory

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Proficient with signage code requirements, including but not limited to Fire, Safety, Health, and ADAG

  • Ability to produce a reliable sign fabrication and installation estimate based on schematic level design

Required Education

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited program
