Brief Job Description:
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for End-Point Management, Patching, Active Directory / Azure AD, Monitoring, Event Management and Full Stack Observability. You will be responsible for developing strategy, roadmaps, designing, implementing, daily management and continuous optimization of these platforms. Additionally, you will be primarily responsible for monitoring, event management and full-stack observability across all infrastructure, applications, and ERP. This role requires a deep understanding of modern endpoint management, strong technical expertise in Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Active Directory / Azure AD, event management and monitoring best practices, tools, processes and execution in support of our end-to-end technology eco-system, including SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and on-prem infrastructure, application and platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of our endpoint management solutions, event management and monitoring systems.
Expertise utilizing monitoring tools such as Microsoft SCOM, Cisco AppDynamics, Dynatrace and SolarWinds to provide real-time insights into our technology stack is required.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities.
Design and Implementation:
Develop and implement observability solutions including monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting for various services and applications.
Design and deploy event management systems to ensure efficient detection, notification, and resolution of incidents.
Configuration and Optimization:
Configure and optimize Microsoft SCCM, SCOM and Intune policies.
Work closely with security teams to implement and enforce endpoint protection measures.
Utilize Azure services and tools to build scalable and reliable observability solutions.
Manage and optimize Azure resources for performance, cost, and security.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay current with industry trends and Microsoft product updates, applying new features and improvements to enhance productivity, and capabilities.
Proactively identify opportunities for automation and optimization of all processes.
Full Stack Development:
Develop and maintain both front-end and back-end components of observability tools and dashboards.
Ensure seamless integration of observability solutions with existing systems and applications.
Incident Response and Troubleshooting:
Respond promptly to system alerts, incidents, and outages identified through monitoring tools.
Conduct in-depth troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve complex technical issues.
Monitor and analyze system performance and events to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents and implement preventive measures.
Documentation and Best Practices:
Create and maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional, global teams to establish and enforce policies and procedures.
Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:
Work closely with IT teams to provide guidance and support on best practices. Conduct training sessions to enhance the technical skills of team members.
Work closely with DevOps, Development, and Operations teams to ensure alignment and integration of observability practices.
Monitoring and Event Management:
Design and implement robust monitoring solutions to track the health and performance of critical systems.
Utilize tools such as Microsoft SCOM, Cisco AppDynamics, Dynatrace and / or SolarWinds to manage and respond to events effectively.
Full Stack Observability:
Implement Full Stack Observability practices to gain comprehensive insights into application and infrastructure performance.
Leverage advanced monitoring techniques to identify and resolve issues across the entire technology stack.
Tool Expertise:
Utilize in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft SCOM, Cisco AppDynamics, Dynatrace, SolarWinds and ServiceNow to configure and optimize monitoring and event management environments.
Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in monitoring and observability.
Automation and Scripting:
Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline observability and event management processes.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform, ARM templates, or similar.
Technical Software Skills / Competencies
Expertise in observability tools and practices (e.g., SCOM, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
Proficiency in event management platforms (e.g., PagerDuty, ServiceNow).
Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
