Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

What you'd be doing in this role
As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:
• Driving innovation in Business Intelligence: lead the technical development of next-gen BI tools to make data insights universally accessible
• Enhancing data and insight discoverability tools to help teams find reliable information with ease
• Collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver impactful projects with engineering leadership
• Championing engineering excellence: building platforms with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability
• Spearheading CI/CD improvement efforts to streamline deployment of analytics tools
• Exploring advanced analytics and AI initiatives – like chatbots or AI-powered search – to position Canva at the forefront of data enablement
• Building tools that transform how Canvanauts interact with and discover data

You're probably a match if:
• You bring a strong background in building scalable platforms and solving complex software challenges
• You’re fluent in Python, SQL, and JavaScript, and have deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS
• You’re passionate about CI/CD, SRE principles, and exploring emerging AI/ML opportunities
• You lead with an ownership mindset and thrive in collaborative, fast-moving environments
• You communicate with clarity and influence, and you’re eager to empower over 3,000 Canvanauts to unlock the value of data
• You’re energised by innovation and excited to shape the future of Canva’s BI and analytics landscape

Our Analytics Platform team empowers every Canvanaut with efficient, reliable self-service tools to generate, discover, and manage analytical insights. Supporting over 3,000 Canvanauts, we continuously improve the discoverability of data and insights, business intelligence tools, and advanced analytics capabilities. We fuel data-driven decisions across Canva, unlocking the full potential of data democratization and amplifying impact at every level.
