Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Technical Operations Manager with deep expertise in technical operations, systems management, and large-scale event coordination. This role will focus on leading the operational infrastructure supporting hospitality services for the Olympic Games and other high-profile international events. The Senior Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping operational strategies, optimizing technical processes, and ensuring seamless technology integration for superior event execution. This leader will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of operational excellence across hospitality, technology, and service delivery.
As a key member of the leadership team, the Senior Technical Operations Manager will align operational strategies with broader event goals, ensure efficient resource allocation, and proactively address challenges. This role will also require effective stakeholder management, ensuring that internal and external teams are aligned, and the delivery of world-class hospitality experiences meets or exceeds expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Define, implement, and manage the technical operations strategy for hospitality services, ensuring seamless alignment with event objectives and the broader organizational mission.
Event Coordination & Execution: Oversee the operational delivery of technical systems supporting hospitality, ensuring smooth integration of technology platforms and seamless event execution. Manage complex operational logistics related to large-scale events, including the Olympic Games.
Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the operational liaison between IT, event services, guest services, security, vendors, and senior leadership to ensure alignment and effective communication across teams.
Technology & Systems Management: Lead the operational management and integration of hospitality technology solutions, including Property Management Systems (PMS), Event Management Software, and Mobile/Guest Experience Applications. Ensure systems are effectively deployed and support the needs of the event.
Risk Mitigation & Problem Resolution: Identify, assess, and proactively address operational risks and challenges, ensuring swift resolution to minimize impacts on event operations.
Executive Reporting: Regularly provide status updates and strategic insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders, ensuring clear visibility on operational progress, challenges, and resource needs.
Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in technical operations and team efficiency, establishing best practices and promoting operational innovation to enhance event delivery.
Team Development & Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, agility, and excellence in technical operations and event management.
Required Skills & Experience:
7+ years of experience in technical operations, systems management, or large-scale event operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within hospitality, event management, or related industries.
Proven success leading complex operational initiatives and driving technical systems integration in high-stakes, international event environments.
In-depth knowledge of hospitality technology systems, including Property Management Systems (PMS), Event Management Software, Mobile Applications, and guest experience technology.
Expertise in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Asana, Smartsheet) with a focus on technical operations and system integration.
Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of influencing cross-functional teams and driving results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and operational information to diverse audiences, including senior executives and external partners.
Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
