Job Description

As a Software Engineer III at Google Cloud, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions. You will work on projects that are critical to Google's needs and have the opportunity to switch teams and projects as your career grows. You will also participate in design reviews, review code, and contribute to documentation and educational content. You will need to be able to triage product or system issues and debug, track, and resolve them by analyzing the sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms
2 years of experience coding in a general purpose coding language
Experience with Cloud compute platforms
Write product or system development code
Participate in design reviews
Review code developed by other developers
Contribute to documentation
Triage product or system issues and debug

Good to have:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields
Experience developing accessible technologies
Experience using asynchronous messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
2 years of experience coding in a general purpose coding language (e.g., Java, C, C++, Python, Shell, Go or JavaScript, etc.) or in system design.
Experience with Cloud compute platforms.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
Experience developing accessible technologies.
Experience using asynchronous messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka.

Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
