Job Description

This Software Engineer (Scripting+Application Support) role at a major Australian Bank focuses on streamlining and troubleshooting critical business processes within a modern, cloud-based environment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting file transfer failures using PowerShell scripting, XCOM, and SFTP, maintaining production documentation (including runbooks and best practices), handling conference bridges during critical downtime (P1 and P2 incidents), and ensuring timely processing of files. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience with PowerShell, job scheduling, networking, Azure cloud concepts, and SQL databases. Excellent communication skills are crucial, and the ability to work independently and proactively is essential.

Project description

Exciting opportunity to join a major Australian Bank in an Applicaiton Support Engineering role. Modern, cloud-based and looking for the right person to streamline and troubleshoot critical business processes.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot file transfer failures and process failed files before agreed cutoff time.

Maintain documentation of production issues, production run

books and assist in documenting operational best practices.

Handle Conference Bridge during critical production downtime (P1 and P2 incidents)

Skills

Must have

4-6 years’ experience

Hands on experience of PowerShell scripting, XCOM, SFTP, Job scheduling,

Knowledge of Networking concept.

Knowledge of Azure cloud concept.

Troubleshoot file transfer failures and process failed files before agreed cut-off time.

Maintain documentation of production issues, production run

books and assist in documenting operational best practices.

Knowledge of SQL database.

Handle Conference Bridge during critical production downtime (P1 and P2 incidents)

Excellent communication skill (verbal, written), proactive, willing to learn and work independently.

Nice to have

Good to have knowledge of Unicenter tool, Revsoft or any scheduling tool

Good to have knowledge of Shell scripting

Banking Domain application support knowledge

Strong ITIL Process knowledge.

Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks

Good team player, willingness to support in shifts and weekends if required.
