Must have:
  • 5+ years network management & troubleshooting
  • Arista, Aruba, Juniper, Palo Alto experience
  • BGP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wireless, L2 expertise
  • Monitoring tools proficiency (Cacti, Zabbix etc.)
  • Server/equipment deployment & maintenance
  • Config management automation (Ansible, Puppet etc.)
  • VMware vSwitches & port groups
  • IPv6 and 802.1x implementation

We seek a highly skilled and motivated Senior Network Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who thrives on tackling diverse technical challenges and embraces the opportunity to innovate within a dynamic environment. You will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our campus infrastructure, ensuring the network infrastructure's seamless operation that enables our teams to create world-class animated films.

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will work alongside a talented and dedicated systems team, contributing to a culture of operational excellence. Our Data Center Operations team drives network stability while regularly implementing hardware and software changes. The ideal candidate is passionate about staying current with emerging technologies and enjoys experimenting with new solutions to continually improve our network environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides day-to-day network maintenance to include installation, configuration, operation, and troubleshooting of wide- and local-area networks and network equipment

  • Manage and troubleshoot Wired, Wireless and VPN connectivity to users and systems

  • Monitor, analyze, and report metrics of network services

  • Research, design and implement security solutions for network infrastructure

  • Produce and maintain documentation of all switching and routing equipment and networks, connected network devices and cabling interconnects

  • Define and document standard operating procedures and maintenance schedules for network devices

  • Provide root cause analysis for critical issues

  • Participate in rotation of off-hours on-call support

 

SKILLS:

  • 5+ years of experience in network management and troubleshooting

  • Background in Arista, Aruba, Juniper and Palo Alto Networks routing/switching and firewall configuration, or similar

  • In depth understanding of BGP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Enterprise Wireless, and L2 technologies

  • Proficiency with diagnostic and performance monitoring tools such as Cacti, Zabbix, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, or similar

  • Expertise in deploying and maintaining physical servers, networking equipment, and other hardware components in both data center environments and customer end points

  • Shares knowledge freely, assisting teammates in learning coding, systems engineering, etc., helping to raise the overall skill level of the team

  • Experience with config management / provisioning automation (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)

  • Experience with VMware vSwitches and port groups

  • IPv6 experience

  • Experience implementing 802.1x

The hiring range for this position in Emeryville is $177,480.00 to $229,680.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
