Zscaler seeks an experienced Data Center Operations (DCO) Engineer to join its Network Infrastructure team. Responsibilities include server and network infrastructure installation ('rack & stack'), structured fiber optic plant installation, data center cabling, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, and collaborating on break/fix activities. The role involves planning and scheduling installations and maintenance, working with engineers to validate equipment, and coordinating with remote hands and third parties. This position requires a deep understanding of servers, network devices, and fiber optics, and experience with remote data center support and Linux/UNIX command line.
Must have:
  • 5+ years in production data center environments
  • Server, network device, fiber optic expertise
  • Experience with remote data center 'Smart Hands'
  • Linux/UNIX command line, BIOS, OOB mgmt (ILO, iDRAC, IPMI)
  • Troubleshooting and repair of server/network components
Good to have:
  • Willingness to travel domestically/internationally (up to 50%)

We are looking for an experienced Data Center Operations (DCO) Engineer to join our Network Infrastructure team. Reporting to the Director of Network Infrastructure, you will be responsible for:

  • “Rack & Stack” -  Install server and network infrastructure into our production data centers and pack and unpack servers, network hardware and other related equipment
  • Install structured fiber optic plants into our production data centers and complete all host and network cabling within our production data centers
  • Troubleshoot issues within our production data center infrastructure and repair or replace server and network components and infrastructure 
  • Collaborate with other teams to schedule, execute and validate break/fix activities and engage and assist Remote Hands and other 3rd parties as needed
  • Plan and schedule installations, maintenances and break/fix activities and work with engineers to ensure all equipment being installed is fully validated

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications) 

  • 5 or more years of experience working with Production Data Center environments
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to the nature of the customers assigned to this role.
  • Deep understanding of various types of servers, network devices, optics, fiber, copper 
  • Experience with engaging remote Data Center “Smart Hands”
  • Experience with the LINUX/UNIX command line, BIOS, OOB mgmt (ILO, iDRAC, IPMI, etc)

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of your time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly and regularly
  • On-call duty is not required but occasional after hours work will be involved

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range
$91,000$130,000 USD
