Job Description

The Staff Developer Advocate at Temporal Technologies will be the voice and face of our developer community in India. This role involves producing high-quality technical content, engaging with developers, and gathering feedback for product development. The successful candidate will drive developer engagement and contribute to the growth of our open-source community. Responsibilities include creating technical content such as blog posts and videos, using data to inform content strategy, collaborating with engineering and marketing teams, actively engaging with the developer community through forums and events, gathering feedback to influence product development, and frequent travel to developer events.

Must have:

Produce high-quality technical content
Engage with developers and community
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
5+ years of software engineering experience
Proficiency in one or more SDK languages
Experience in distributed systems

Good to have:

Experience in a developer advocate role
Strong existing local network of developers
Experience building developer communities

Summary

What You’ll Do:

Create Technical Content: Produce high-quality technical content such as blog posts, tutorials, guides, diagrams, and videos targeted at developers.
Data-Driven Content Strategy: Use data to inform and evaluate content efforts, iterating based on performance and feedback.
Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with engineering and marketing teams to ensure consistent, high-quality content and messaging.
Community Engagement: Actively engage with the developer community through forums, social media, and events, representing Temporal.io.
Feedback Loop: Gather feedback from the community to influence product development and improve developer experience.
Event Participation: Travel frequently to support and participate in developer events and conferences.

What You’ll Bring:

MUST reside in Bangalore and be eligible to work without sponsorship.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with a strong focus on AI and distributed systems.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in one or more of our SDK languages, distributed systems, state management, and workflow execution.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a developer advocate or relations role; building and engaging developer communities is a plus.
The ability to attend meetings in the Pacific Time Zone 2-3 times a week

Strong existing local network of developers. We will prioritize candidates with an existing track record of speaking and engaging in their local developer communities.

Compensation ranges reflect salary and commission compensation (when applicable) across several geographic markets. Employment offers carefully consider multiple factors, including prior experience, knowledge, expertise, skillset, market location, and job level assessed during the interview process.
