The Supplier Development Engineer, Mechanical Operations will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver Google Hardware products. Responsibilities include using statistical process control and yield studies to validate process capability, working with suppliers to qualify processes, and driving process improvements. The role also involves setting up quality control plans, ensuring approved measurement SOPs are implemented, and identifying manufacturability issues to ensure stable product quality and predictable supply. The engineer will be the go-to person for material quality/reliability issues and own supplier quality, driving improvements for quality, yield, and cost. This requires experience in mechanical part manufacturing processes, quality control plan development and execution, and continuous improvement initiatives. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing or Quality is needed.
