The Tax Manager will establish and lead the tax function for the BU Emergency Care, which will be carved out from Philips at the end of 2025. This role involves full ownership of global tax operations, compliance, and strategy for eight legal entities across the US, Europe, and Asia. Responsibilities include monitoring global tax developments, advising on international expansion, collaborating with various teams, leading tax audits, managing transfer pricing policies, ensuring tax compliance, and overseeing tax provisions. This is a great opportunity for an entrepreneurial individual with an experience in global tax to support the disentanglement from Philips to the NewCo.

In late January, we announced that Bridgefield Capital signed an agreement to acquire Philips’ Emergency Care business which includes leading brands and products like HeartStart AEDs, Intrepid and DFM100 monitor defibrillators, Tempus monitor and Tempus ALS systems, and Corsium and ECI informatics solutions. We expect the transaction to close at the end of 2025.   

With Bridgefield’s support and building on our 40+ year legacy of growth and innovation in emergency medical technology, the Emergency Care business will continue passionately pursuing our mission of saving lives, lowering the cost of healthcare, and advancing the science of resuscitation while serving the public access AED, EMS, military, and hospital market segments.

Global Tax Manager – Emergency Care Business

Location: US (Bothell, WA or remote)

Reporting to: Head of Finance

This is an exciting opportunity to establish and lead the tax function for BU Emergency Care, which will be carved out from Philips at the end of 2025. The NewCo will have eight legal entities (of which seven are newly established legal entities) across the US, Europe, and Asia, with a strong footprint in the US. As a Tax generalist, you will take full ownership of global tax operations, compliance, and strategy.

The BU Emergency Care is currently being carved out and will be transferred to Private Equity. Therefore, this is a great opportunity if you have the ambition to become the new Global Tax Manager and have entrepreneurial mindset. Additionally, you will be providing financial expertise to support a smooth disentanglement and transition from Philips to the NewCo.

Your role:

  • Monitor global tax developments across key regions and assess their impact on risk and opportunity for the business.
  • Advise on tax aspects of international expansion, cross-border operations, and supply chain changes.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and commercial teams to align and optimize global tax strategies.
  • Lead tax audits and respond to regulatory inquiries across various jurisdictions.
  • Design and manage global transfer pricing policies, ensuring compliance and proper documentation of intercompany transactions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate corporate and indirect tax compliance across multiple regions, managing advisors and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and financial disclosures under US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Drive tax process automation, implement technology solutions, and lead internal training to support consistent global tax operations.

You’re the right fit if:

  • You’ve got a bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Tax (preferably), Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • You’ve acquired 7+yrs of tax experience in a multinational corporation or a Big 4/leading tax advisory firm, with a strong focus on international tax compliance and structuring. Expertise in corporate income tax and international tax principles across multiple jurisdictions, and knowledge of indirect taxes and transfer pricing. Experience managing cross-border tax compliance and reporting.
  • You’re a highly organized and detail-oriented person, with the ability to manage multiple tax obligations across jurisdictions. Entrepreneurial mindset and initiative-taker who thrives in an autonomous, fast-paced environment. Strong business and Finance acumen enabling excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with regional finance teams, external advisors, and tax authorities.
  • You’re skills include strong collaboration skills, working effectively with global finance, legal, and commercial teams. Adaptability and openness to change, with the ability to navigate ambiguity.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

The pay range for this position is:

$123.564 to $197.702 (Bothell (WA), CA, CT, MA, NJ, NY & Washington D.C.)

$104.809 to $167.694 (AZ, AR, ID, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MS, MO, MT, NE, NM, OK, SC, SD, TN & WV)

$110.325 to $176.520 (AL, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, ND, OH, OR, PA, TX, VT, VA, WI & WY)

$115.841 to $185.346 (AK, DE, HI, MD & RI)

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.   

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.  Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more.  Details about our benefits can be found here

At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
