Essential Job Functions (Include but are not limited to)
- Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data processing pipelines.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using appropriate languages and frameworks.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
- Database Management:
- Design and optimize database schemas for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Implement data migration, transformation, and manipulation tasks as needed.
- Ensure data consistency, integrity, and security in backend systems.
- Performance Optimization:
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks in backend systems through optimization and refactoring.
- Implement caching mechanisms, asynchronous processing, and other techniques to improve system performance.
- Conduct performance testing and profiling to identify areas for improvement.
- Quality Assurance and Testing:
- Write unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to ensure the quality and reliability of backend systems.
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other developers.
- Collaborate with QA engineers to identify and resolve bugs and issues.
- Documentation and Technical Support:
- Document design decisions, architecture diagrams, and implementation details.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers and team members.
- Assist in troubleshooting production issues and implementing solutions in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of leading successful projects and teams.
- Strong working knowledge of GraphQL and AWS
- Working knowledge of microservices architecture, containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (e.g., Java, Python, node.js, etc.).
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Experience managing day-to-day technical and design direction for large scale systems.
- Ability to influence multiple stakeholders, achieve strategic goals and evolve product strategy based on research, data, and industry trends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of message brokers, queues, and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
- Experience with agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Contributions to open-source projects or participation in developer communities.
