About the team

In the Transaction Services team, we support a broad range of clients, including private equity firms, investment funds, and corporate clients, through mergers, acquisitions, and disposals. Advising throughout the lifecycle of the deal, we work on both buy-side and sell-side transactions, where our team develops specialist sector expertise and key skills in financial due diligence. We have an excellent reputation for bringing deep industry knowledge and actionable insights through thorough analysis and deal experience. Our Transaction Services team collaborates with organizations of all sizes across major industries, including Manufacturing, Energy & Utilities, E-commerce, Healthcare & Pharma, Construction, Real Estate, FMCG, and IT. We have participated in some of the most interesting, largest, and complex transactions in the Czech Republic. Our clients or target entities have included companies such as EPH, ČEZ, E.ON, Leo Express, Smartwings, Blackstone, PPF Real Estate, O2, Kofola, Genesis Capital, Arx Equity Partners, CVC Capital Partners, Cestovní kancelář FISCHER, KKCG, LeasePlan, WOOD & Company, Penta, RSJ, and many more.


About the manager

The team is led by Jan Dvorak, a director and experienced Transaction Services specialist with over 20 years of experience in the M&A sector. He has extensive experience in assisting foreign investors with acquisitions of Czech companies, as well as supporting Czech companies in their expansion across the CEE region. Jan is assisted by another director, Marek Vašina, who has deep industry knowledge and technical expertise covering the entire transaction process. The team is further supported by two experienced managers and a number of consultants.

Job description & summary

As a Manager in the Transaction Services team, you will work alongside experienced due diligence professionals, allowing you to develop the skills needed to perform due diligence across various situations and sectors. On most projects, you will collaborate with a broader cross-service line team. As you progress in your career with PwC, you will have the opportunity to work on more complex transactions, take on team leadership roles, build relationships with clients and other members of the corporate finance community, and assume broader responsibilities within our business.


Skills and attributes for success

  • Manage projects independently, coach, and supervise junior team members.

  • Prepare analyses of historical and pro forma financial information to assess trends and fluctuations that may impact impact revenues, EBITDA, net working capital, net debt, or cash flow requirements.

  • Conduct industry and company research using online tools and publicly available information.

  • Assist in researching technical accounting issues to evaluate implications on transaction valuation and structuring.

  • Assist in preparing reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other stakeholders (e.g. banks).

  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel.


Requirements of the role

  • A university degree (preferably, but not necessarily, in finance or economics).

  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience (i.e. managerial role in finance, big4 or any other consulting firm).

  • Ability to independently lead projects and to manage junior colleagues.

  • Strong communication and written skills.

  • Ability and experience with communication with clients.

  • Ability to organize well own work to fulfil challenging deadlines.

  • Excellent Czech and English language skills.

  • Excellent MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills.

  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills.

  • Enthusiastic and positive personality.
