ABOUT THE ROLE
The Business Data Analyst performs data analyses and provides data-driven recommendations to support the operation of the LeoVegas sportsbook business. Day-to-day work will consist of addressing data related queries from stakeholders by creating data products such as dashboards, reports, analysis, and automation. The role holder will be a catalyst for data-driven decision making around the company, through their strong data storytelling and visualization skills to communicate advanced business insights. This role will work frequently with a wide array of teams including: data engineers, data scientists, bookmaking operations, CRM, product, and management.
 
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
  • Defining analytical requirements and scoping in response to both high-level and hyper-specific questions about the sportsbook business
  • Executing analyses using a blend of simple and complex techniques, ranging from data visualization to data science
  • Telling stories using data and communicate findings to influence decisions, based on the rigorous analyses you have performed
  • Providing thought leadership and technical consultation to various sportsbook stakeholders and management
  • Developing user-friendly dashboards and reports 
  • Supporting business with Ad-Hoc Reporting requests
  • Supporting a culture of data literacy and data-driven decision making
OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
Essential skills (Must have) 
  • Advanced SQL skills – ability to write complex queries on large datasets with many joins, CTEs, window functions etc. Experience writing these queries using databases such as Bigquery, Redshift, SQL Server etc.
  • Strong data visualization skills – highly proficient with Domo, Tableau, or related dashboarding tools (Looker, Power BI etc.)
  • Experience with advanced analytics, data science, or automation projects
  • A natural curiosity and intuition for data - ability to create models/frameworks to break down complex problems without fully defined requirements and questions
  • Excellent Verbal and written Communication skills and the ability to create and tell stories with data 
 
Nice to have skills (Nice to have) 
  • Experience with Python/R experience or competency with other scripting language
  • Experience with database design and ETL, and associated technologies such as DBT

Salary range for this role is $115 - 125k.
