Job Description

As a Senior Associate in Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory Services, you will be responsible for addressing complex financial reporting issues, technical accounting challenges, and IFRS implementations. You will work with clients on high-profile transactions, providing solution-oriented approaches. You will also assist with IFRS training for clients and PwC teams. The role involves providing IFRS technical accounting advice, performing IFRS compliance reviews, and assisting in capital market transactions. Responsibilities also include preparing financial statements, leading engagement teams, and providing specialist support on technical IFRS areas. You will need to build and maintain strong client relationships and participate in practice management activities. This role requires you to interact with clients directly as well as collaborate with a diverse group of talented professionals in other Lines of Service within PwC to deliver a unique, pragmatic solution for our clients.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
  • ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent qualification
  • At least 3 years of audit/accounting experience

Job Description & Summary

A career within CMAAS, will provide you with the opportunity to be responsible for complex financial reporting issues, technical accounting challenges, new IFRS implementations and IFRS conversions. You will tackle client’s needs with a solution-oriented approach that creatively addresses complex financial reporting problems for high profile transactions, and you will have significant interaction with senior company management teams. As a Senior Associate, you will also be involved in preparing and co-facilitating (where necessary) IFRS training to our clients and internally to the PwC teams.

What should our Senior Associate expect from us?  

If you are a driven and intellectually curious professional who enjoys creating innovative solutions to help companies and executives find the right solutions to their most complex financial and accounting operations, particularly as they prepare for corporate actions, then this will be an exciting role for you. You will be working with top notch clients. As a Senior Associate, you will interact with clients directly as well as collaborate with a diverse group of talented professionals in other Lines of Service within PwC to deliver a unique, pragmatic solution for our clients. You will also assist audit engagement teams in finding the right solutions to the accounting technical issues faced by audit clients. 

Responsibilities 

If you’re successful, you’ll undertake engagements locally and globally which could include a combination of but not limited to: 

  • Provide IFRS technical accounting advice to a variety of clients. 
  • Perform IFRS compliance review of financial statements. 
  • Assist in capital market transactions such as capital raising, business acquisition, amongst others. 
  • Assist with creating content for IFRS roadshows, IFRS roadmaps, amongst others. 
  • Preparation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) financial statements for companies operating in different industries. 
  • Lead engagement teams on financial reporting projects. 
  • Provision of specialist support on technical IFRS areas including financial instruments, business combination, consolidation etc. 
  • Provision of accounting advice to various clients on impact assessment of the adoption of new IFRSs 
  • Act as an audit support consultant on financial reporting issues to audit teams on engagements spanning across various industries. 
  • Conversion of financial statements from local/non-IFRSGAAP to IFRS. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and established clients. 
  • Wider practice management responsibilities which will include coaching, competency development and market eminence activities.  

Experience and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant subject areas such as Accounting, Finance etc. 
  • The following qualification(s) are mandatory for the candidate to perform the role: ACCA, ACA, CPA, or other equivalent qualification completed or in progress. 
  • At least 3 years of working experience in an audit firm within audit/accounting projects.
