Job Description

The Client Onboarding Associate role at Interactive Brokers Singapore Pte. Ltd. involves providing high-quality client service to retail and institutional clients. Responsibilities include responding to inquiries via various channels, researching and resolving account opening issues, multitasking with AML and KYC knowledge, learning the brokerage platform, working with legal and compliance teams, and identifying and escalating complex issues. The role demands excellent troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills, with a focus on providing a high-value client experience. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for new clients. The job requires being efficient, self-motivated and hardworking in a fast-paced environment. The role will require the ability to work closely with other New Account teams and the Risk Assessment Team to ensure all financial crime risks are reviewed and evaluated.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-3 years in Client Service or Financial Service preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
  • 2 years experience in brokerage or corporate banking.
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills.
  • Multitasking various projects and initiatives.
  • Intermediate experience with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team

Interactive Brokers Singapore Pte. Ltd. is expanding its Application Service Group (ASG) within the New Accounts Department at our Singapore location. We are searching for candidates with prior experience in the financial services industry, extraordinary attention to detail, and strong communication skills. The client service department liaises with Interactive Brokers' retail and Institutional clients.

 

The IBSG ASG is accountable for providing high-quality client service to our sophisticated retail clients, HNWIs, financial advisors, hedge fund operators, corporates, and other broker-dealers. We aim to facilitate client onboarding by providing account opening guidance while building and maintaining long-term client relationships as we expand our global service offerings. As part of the ASG, the successful candidate will be the first and most important impression new clients have of Interactive Brokers.

 

Responsibilities

  • Correspond to inquiries and concerns externally with retail and institutional clients via in-person meetings, telephone, e-mail and online messaging, internally to sales representatives and Client service representatives;
  • Research and resolve a wide variety of client questions and/or issues on the account opening process;
  • Multitask with a strong emphasis on AML and KYC knowledge while dealing with incoming client queries;
  • Learn all aspects of the IBA brokerage platform and policy that offer alternatives to satisfy client concerns while complying with policies, practices and procedures;
  • Work closely with Legal and Compliance, Program Developers, and Project Managers to ensure compliance with new and existing procedures and regulatory requirements;
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and escalate complex issues;
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills;
  • Taking personal responsibility for identifying client needs while providing a high-value experience;
  • Efficient, self-motivated and hard working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment; and
  • Work closely with other New Account teams and the Risk Assessment Team to ensure all financial crime risks are reviewed and evaluated.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience:  2-3 years in Client Service and/or Financial Service preferred. Fresh graduates with a Finance, Law, Accounting, or Information Systems, etc. who are motivated and demonstrate the right aptitude will also be considered;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; Cantonese and Mandarin is advantageous
  • Minimum of 2 years experience and familiarity, preferably gained in brokerage or corporate banking. Demonstrates knowledge in handling client concerns and issues with tact and diplomacy;
  • Strong research, investigatory, and problem-solving skills;
  • Able to multitask various projects and firm initiatives;
  • Intermediate experience with MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel; and
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team while handling multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously
