Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We’re looking to hire a Copy Editor for a leading financial institution. 

The Copy Editor is an integral part of the marketing team, responsible for reviewing diverse marketing materials to ensure top-quality deliverables. This role involves collaborating with various internal groups to manage projects and ensure timely completion of all tasks.

This is a full-time 4-6 month contract opportunity that is hybrid onsite in Los Angeles, CA. 

• Reviews print and electronic materials for clarity, grammar, accuracy, consistency, style, tone, and disclosure requirements. Verifies statistics and facts, and recommends edits based on target audience and style guides.
• Identifies and updates quarterly/annual statistical information and disclosures. Ensures accurate display on web/digital pages and error-free materials.
• Tracks and incorporates compliance language updates, ensuring materials meet legal and regulatory standards. Applies required disclosure language across all channels.
• Monitors and incorporates changes from style guides (AP Stylebook, Chicago Manual of Style) to ensure consistent communication tone and style.
• Uses sound judgment for complex matters and demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, including grammar and syntax.
• Works effectively in a team environment and across diverse groups, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
•  Follows production schedules, tracks deliverables, solves problems, and escalates issues as needed. Manages workload and meets deadlines efficiently.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of copyediting experience.
• Experience in financial, pharmaceutical, or medical environments is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of financial and investment concepts.
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of spelling, punctuation, grammar and style guides and ability to apply that knowledge to work assignments; follows Chicago and AP styles.
• Writing/portfolio examples strongly preferred!

• *To qualify for our benefits package, you must work over 30 hours per week and the length of assignment must be a minimum of 10 weeks.
