Job Description
As a Customer Engineer II, Security and Compliance at Google Cloud, you'll partner with technical sales teams as a subject matter expert. You will help customers understand Google Cloud's capabilities, develop cloud solutions, engage in proofs-of-concept, and troubleshoot technical security and compliance issues. Responsibilities include identifying business opportunities, resolving technical objections, sharing expertise in security and compliance, supporting bid responses, and working directly with Google Cloud products. You'll also contribute to internal programs, drive enablement, and travel to customer sites and conferences. The role requires strong technical, communication, and organizational skills, along with experience in cloud native architecture, cybersecurity, and working with technical and executive stakeholders.
Must have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 6+ years cloud native architecture and cybersecurity experience
- Experience with Cloud IAM, network/data security, and compliance frameworks
- Experience presenting to technical and executive stakeholders
Good to have:
- Master's degree in related technical field
- Cloud or security certifications
- Knowledge of cybersecurity market trends (ransomware, zero trust, etc.)
- Knowledge of Cloud Security (data and infrastructure security)

Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture and cyber-security in a customer-facing or support role.
- Experience with Cloud Identity and Access Management, network security, data security, regulatory compliance frameworks, or creating security architectures.
- Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Certification in cloud or security industry.
- Knowledge of product and solution market trends in the cyber-security industry (e.g., ransomware, attack frameworks, zero trust, etc.).
- Knowledge of Cloud Security (e.g., data security and infrastructure security).

You will use your expertise and presentation skills to engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud. You will have excellent technical, communication and organizational skills. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical security and compliance blockers.
- Share in-depth expertise in security, privacy and regulatory compliance to support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partnering directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
- Work directly with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.
- Contribute to programs in areas of security, privacy, and compliance with internal teams, (e.g., Marketing, Product, Legal, and Policy). Drive enablement internally to create customer best practices.
- Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required, acting as a public advocate for Google Cloud.
