As a High Performance Computing (HPC) Customer Engineer, you will partner with technical Sales teams as a subject-matter-expert in HPC to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, engage in proofs of concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks. You will engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud. You will be a part of a diverse team of fellow Googlers working in an environment of respect and inclusion where we promote equal opportunities to succeed.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role
  • Experience with High Performance Computing, implementing shared file systems, batch scheduling and workload management
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders
  • Experience in the BioTech industry
Good to have:
  • Experience as an IT infrastructure consultant or enterprise architect in data center transformation strategies, migrations, proposals, or organizational alignment and change management
  • Experience architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, high-performance, distributed systems
  • Experience within the Life-Sciences market with a knowledge in Biotech workloads, such as Genomics Processing, Drug Discovery, Cryo-EM, and Molecular Dynamics
  • Experience with cloud or on-premises infrastructure engineering
  • Understanding of systems management concepts such as image management, patching, automated deployment, etc.

Minimum qualifications:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Recommend and document migration paths, integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution on Google Cloud.
  • Assist Infrastructure Solutions Management teams, contributing to solution and use case assets.
  • Lead workshops for strategic customers to assess existing application/infrastructure environments and organizational readiness. Identify potential use cases for cloud computing and paths to digital transformation.
  • Develop architectural blueprints to enable infrastructure, high performance computing, and mainframe migration opportunities, coordinating with Product and Specialist teams.
