Advising the public sector on the structuring and tendering of Public Private Partnerships (PPP)
Advising sponsors and funds on 1) project finance raising processes; 2) financial modelling; 3) financial model reviews; 4) infrastructure tender processes.
Job Description
The Project Finance team is seeking to hire a [Manager/Senior Manager] with expertise in project finance processes to join our team in Madrid. The selected candidate will:
Participate in advising sponsors and funds on debt raising processes for renewable energy and infrastructure projects both locally and internationally.
Collaborate with the leadership team in pitching processes to increase the pipeline of project finance raising process mandates.
Execute project finance processes under the supervision of the leadership team.
Analyze renewable energy and infrastructure trends and contribute to the creation of innovative financing options.
Oversee and mentor junior and senior associates in the department.
The job is based in our Madrid office [and may require some national and/or international travel].
Requirements: Skills and Experience
Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or Engineering.
MBA, Master's in Finance or Structured Finance, CFA, or similar (desirable, but not necessary).
At least [5-10] years of experience in Project Finance within the infrastructure and/or renewables sector gained through investment banking, boutique firms, funds, and/or sponsors.
Experience in pitching and creating marketing materials to obtain new project finance debt advisory mandates.
Knowledge of the main players and lenders (senior and junior) financing the renewable and infrastructure sectors, as well as industry trends.
Proven track record of local and international (desirable) experience in debt raising processes and managing the financing process from start to finish, including:
Analyzing and structuring the most suitable financing structure for projects and creating the term sheet of the financing.
Identifying the most suitable lenders for projects.
Developing financial models and marketing materials for the debt raising process (teasers and infomemos).
Coordinating due diligence advisors and banks during the financing process.
Advising in the drafting and negotiation of commercial terms in financing agreements.
Advanced understanding of accounting and tax related to project finance structures
Experience in tendering processes for infrastructure projects (desirable but not necessary)
Proficient financial modeling skills, particularly with project finance models.
Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Excellent communication skills in both oral and written Spanish and English
Excellent leadership, teamwork, interpersonal, learning, problem-solving, analytical, attention to detail, organizational, and adaptability skills
Flexibility to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
