Job Description

The Deputy Chief Accountant will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and optimizing accounting processes. Responsibilities include managing financial operations, monthly and yearly closings (AR, AP, GL, FA), preparing management reports with variance analysis, preparing Statutory Financial Statements, preparing VAT and GUS reports, calculating CIT, reconciling general ledger accounts, maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, and liaising with external parties. The role requires proactive identification of risk areas and suggesting solutions to improve operating effectiveness.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Economics
  • At least 5 years of experience as an independent Accountant
  • Experience with finance share service center cooperation
  • Good knowledge of Polish taxation rules (VAT, CIT, WHT)
  • SAP knowledge at an advanced level
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word
  • Very good English writing and speaking skills
Good to have:
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA)
  • Experience in market research or data analytics

Job Details

 

We are seeking a Deputy Chief Accountant skills to join our YouGov Shopper finance team in Poland. This role will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and optimizing our accounting processes.

You will:

  • Running accounting books, perform monthly and yearly closing – AR, AP and GL, FA – support and overseeing of SSC in India (daily cooperation with SSC team).
  • Participation in the preparation of management report with variance analysis and audit schedule.
  • Participation in preparation of Statutory Financial Statement.
  • Preparation of VAT declarations for Polish legal entity.
  • Preparation of GUS reports.
  • Calculation of CIT for Polish legal entity.
  • Reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Register.
  • Liaise with external parties such as: auditors, tax consultants, bankers, lawyers, government authorities and etc.
  • Being pro-active in identifying risk areas and recommend  solutions to improve operating effectiveness.
  • Any other ad-hoc assignment by management .

You have:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree at Finance, Economics.
  • At least 5 years working experience on independent Accountant position.
  • Experience with cooperation with finance share service centre.
  • Good knowledge in Polish taxation rules ( VAT, CIT, WHT)SAP knowledge at advanced level.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literate in MS Excel, Word, Tagetik is preferable.
  • English (writing and speaking) at very good level daily cooperation with SSC in India.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA).
  • Experience in market research or data analytics industry.
