Job Description

The Game Programmer will be responsible for designing and implementing gameplay mechanics in Techland's newest games. This involves creating and prototyping new mechanics and systems, developing existing code, creating tools for the team, and collaborating with artists and designers. The role requires a strong understanding of FPP/TPP games and their playability, along with excellent organizational and communication skills. The candidate should have a passion for games and be familiar with the latest titles and trends. Responsibilities also include code optimization and debugging.
Good To Have:
  • Computer science education.
  • Knowledge of commercial game engines (Unreal Engine/Unity).
  • At least one shipped AAA title.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of AI systems.
Must Have:
  • Very good knowledge of C++.
  • Familiarity with STL and version control systems.
  • Experience in developing gameplay mechanics/systems.
  • Cross-platform experience.
  • Passion for games and knowledge of latest trends.
  • Understanding of playability in FPP/TPP games.
  • Very good organization and time management skills.
  • Very good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Very good command of English.

Job Description

Your daily tasks:

Design and implementation of gameplay mechanics in Techland's newest games, in particular:

  • Creating and prototyping new mechanics / systems.
  • Development of an already existing code base.
  • Creating systems and tools for other people on the team.
  • Co–operation with artists and designers.
  • Code optimization and debugging.

Qualifications

  • Very good knowledge of C++.
  • Familiarity with STL and version control systems.
  • Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining gameplay mechanics/systems.
  • Cross-platform experience.
  • Authentic passion for games as well as knowledge of the latest titles and trends, especially in FPP games.
  • Understanding of rules and problems connected with playability in FPP/TPP games.
  • Very good organization and time management skills.
  • Very good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Very good command of English.

Nice to have:

  • Computer science education.
  • Knowledge of commercial game engines such as Unreal Engine and / or Unity.
  • At least one shipped AAA title developed from start to finish.
  • Strong math skills.
